Around the World

We are nearly at the end of our around the world topic.  Think about the places you have learnt about and the places you may have visited.  Using the features we have talked about in our leaflet writing write about a country of your choice.  Try to include: commas in a list, bullet points and subheadings.

All about Kenya

Over the next few weeks in in literacy we will be writing leaflets all about Kenya.  We have done lots of research in class.  Can you find out some more information for your homework.  Organise what you find out under subheadings. You may choose to write about the food, Masai, Nairobi, animals or any other interesting facts. 

History of transport around the world

Next week we will be going to the Brooklands museum. In preparation we would like you to think about how we can travel around the world and how it has been done in the past.  Write a paragraph describing different modes of transport.

Food Chains

This week in science we will be learning about food chains.  What food chains can you find out about?  Write a paragraph about what happens in that food chain.  Try to include the following scientific vocabulary- herbivore, carnivore, omnivore, producer and consumer.

Africa

As part of our around the world topic, next week we will be learning about Africa.  What can you find out about Africa?   You may want to focus on a specific country. You could research:

-Animals

-Languages

-Food

In our science lessons we have been looking at micro-habitats around the school.  Can you spot any creatures in your garden, street or local park?  What did you spot? Why do you think it chose to live in that micro-habitat?
